Brett has been an outdoor educator for 23 years and providing leadership for the past 14. Some highlights of his experience include:

  • ACA Whitewater Kayak and Pack Rafting Instructor Trainer
  • AMGA Single Pitch Instructor
  • Wilderness First Responder
  • Accomplished athlete in a variety of outdoor disciplines including whitewater kayaking, rock and ice climbing, backcountry skiing, and adventure cycling.

Josh started working for Outdoor Pursuits in 2000 Josh ran his own mountain guiding business in Durango and successfully ran it for 10 years before returning back to OP as the Permitting and Programming Coordinator.

Kate Macklin, Coordinator of Operations

Kate recently began working for Outdoor Pursuits in 2022. She holds a Bachelor of Science in environmental science from Sweet Briar College and a Master of Science in parks, recreation, and tourism with an emphasis in experiential education from the University of Utah. She has more than 8 years of professional experience at a variety of higher education outdoor programs. Kate prefers to spend her time outside paddling rivers, backpacking long-distance trails, and Nordic skiing.
