Learn about the Indigenous Adventure Fund

Outdoor Pursuits has been awarded a generous grant from the Cahuilla Band of Indians Tribe to help FLC’s native students to get outside. Though the cost of OP’s trips and programs is minimal, participating can still be expensive. The Indigenous Adventure Fund eliminates that financial barrier to make the outdoors accessible to all.

How to use the fund

The fund is available to all currently enrolled indigenous FLC students. Follow the steps below to secure your adventure with OP:

  1. Identify a trip you are interested in via the OP Program Guide. Do this a least a week before the trip’s sign-up date.
  2. Register for the trip via in-person at OP or online and complete a short questionnaire. The trip fee will be waived.
  3. Attend any pre-trip meetings.
  4. Go on the trip! Along the way, meet new people; learn a new skill, activity, or about a new area; eat great food; and have a blast.

It is as simple as that.

Special Thanks!

OP thanks former SOL Leader and FLC Alum Steven Leash, as well as the Tribal Council of the Cahuilla Band of Indians Tribe, for initiating the Indigenous Adventure Fund and for creating opportunities for our indigenous students to experience OP’s trips and activities. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of our students!
