The Sustainability Summit is your chance to learn about what’s happening both at FLC and in our broader region when it comes to sustainability issues and progress, and an opportunity to connect with regional sustainability organizations.
4 pm Community Networking
We’re gathering this year to connect with around 35 community organizations who will be sharing job, internship, volunteer, and advocacy opportunities. In addition, students and community members will have the opportunity to learn about updates on campus sustainability efforts and projects.
6 pm Free Dinner for FLC Students and Staff
The dinner will focus on local foods from our region. Enjoy the bounty of Colorado!
6:30 pm AI and the Environment Panel
The theme for this year’s summit is AI and the Environment. The Environmental Center is teaming up with Fort Lewis' AI Institute and the Four Corners Water Center to host a panel of three speakers to have an in-depth, fact-based conversation about the growing use of AI and its impacts. Our panelists include Chris Hansen, the CEO of La Plata Electric Association; Laura Moorefield, an independent consultant with an expertise in the electric sector; and Roger Fragua, the Executive Director of the Tribal Energy Consortium and Flower Hill Institute.
