Stacey DeFore serves in the role of Stakeholder Engagement & Government Relations for Lockheed Martin Space. She aligns customer and stakeholder engagement to strategic planning for growth in existing, and emerging markets within commercial civil space with their NASA, NOAA, DoD, and DoE customers.

Prior to joining Lockheed Martin, Ms. DeFore served as Director Strategy & Business Development for Teledyne Brown Engineering Space Systems Segment. In this role, she was responsible for shaping strategic opportunities for segment growth & sustainment on programs of record with goals & objectives for both human & robotic missions.

Prior, Ms. DeFore held the role of Director Government Relations & Strategic Engagement at Metropolitan State University of Denver. In that role, she had responsibility of the development and execution of university stakeholder mapping, special projects, initiatives and outreach aligning with the university’s strategic roadmap. Her focus was on partnership development with an emphasis on industry workforce pipeline curriculum and capital campaigns for the Advanced Manufacturing Sciences

Institute. Ms. DeFore positioned MSU Denver for robust Public-Private Partnerships in aerospace and established the President’s Industry Advisory Board for the Advanced Manufacturing Sciences Institute, supporting the university’s key initiatives.

Stacey’s dedication to the community is evident through her service. Among her appointments, she currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Colorado Aerospace States Association (ASA) Chaired by Lt. Governor Primavera and participates on a number of industry, association, non-profits, and academic boards throughout Colorado.

Ms. DeFore was acknowledged by the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce (CWCC) as the Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Colorado in 2021 and received the Colorado Space Business Roundtable’s 2020 Cosmic Contributor Award. Stacey is also the proud recipient of the Club 20, Johnson-Theos Bridge Builder Award for her work on the western slope.

Ms. DeFore graduated from Fort Lewis College with a BA in Business Administration. She is a native of Colorado where she lives with her husband Robert, and daughter Tabor DeFore.
