"I am currently a Farm Bill Wildlife Biologist with Pheasants Forever working in the beautiful prairies of South Dakota. Before this position, I worked seasonally with; The Forest Service as a Wildlife Biology Technician in the Thunder Basin National Grasslands, Wyoming Game and Fish as an Access Yes Technician, and The Forest Service/ Bureau of Land Management as a Wildland Firefighter in New Mexico. I owe much of my success to the TRIO Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM3) Program. The program team was kind, understanding, and always willing to help. One individual who stood out was Cacia Pope. Cacia was my tutor, and as a biology major at FLC, her help in developing study plans, finding tutors, and registering for classes was priceless. Her dedication, along with others, helped me achieve academic success, and more importantly, I gained friends through this program. Their hard work and confidence in me gave me the self-confidence to continue my college journey and ultimately receive my degree. Without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today."
