STEM3 is located on the Fort Lewis College Campus in the modular buildings located just north of the Student Life Center.
“STEM3 was a large part of my life during the years I studied at FLC. As a first generation, low-income student, I had no clue what college was going to be like, and did not realize the amount of work that had to go into it to be successful.
The advisors at STEM3 guided me towards proper study habits and time-management, and I started getting the best grades I ever received in my life. They helped me develop a good work ethic and set realistic goals for myself. To top it all off, they provided me with a space where I felt like I belonged, which was critical to maintaining sanity while working on a Bachelor of Science!
After graduation, STEM3 offered me a position as one of their advisors. I am truly honored and excited to be in this role, and my goal is to be able to make a difference for our students, just as my advisor did for me.”
"STEM3 really helped me to get my degree through their encouragement and willingness to be there for me as a student in their program.
My STEM3 advisors were always ready to listen to me whenever I had a problem and always gave me advice that really helped me. They helped me stay on track with my degree plan and always asked how my classes were going. Whenever I needed help with getting good grades they hired tutors to help me. They really helped me to stay caught up with school, even through the rough times.
The whole STEM3 team helped me to understand that asking for help isn’t a bad thing; it is always great to ask for help when needed, because we can’t always do everything all on our own. As a member of STEM3, I’ve learned a lot about myself; now I know I can achieve the goals that I set for myself."
Our Vision: All FLC STEM3 students will graduate within 6 years, with the skills they need to successfully navigate academic, career, and life challenges.
Our Mission: We positively impact the FLC STEM retention, graduation, and graduate school transferability rates of first-generation students, students from low-income backgrounds, and students with disabilities.
