The Gender and Sexuality Resource Center offers consultations and educational workshops for the campus community and the wider Durango area on topics that affect LGBTQIA2S people.
Our programs build understanding, support inclusive practices, and help create more welcoming spaces for everyone. Workshop topics include sex, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, pronouns, and current events shaping LGBTQIA2S lives and communities.
Rather than using a certification-based Safezone Allyship model, our training focuses on practical learning and real-world application. Participants explore how to use inclusive language, respond thoughtfully in everyday situations, and better understand the issues affecting students, staff, and the broader community.
The current training series includes three one-hour sessions:
- Queer 101
- Trans 101
- Current events and practical applications in active allyship
