Gender-inclusive restrooms ensure that individuals of all gender identities and expressions can access comfortable and secure restroom facilities. Here are more reasons why gender-inclusive restrooms are necessary:

No, all are welcome to use the restroom with which they are most comfortable. This includes gender-exclusive restrooms (restrooms designated as men’s and women’s), which will continue to be available and accessible in all buildings, and single-occupancy/family restrooms.
Gender-inclusive restrooms at Fort Lewis College do not list a gender associated with the restroom, such as “men’s” or “women’s,” and have signage that indicates the facilities available in the restroom (urinals, stalls, etc.). Gender-exclusive restrooms will indicate the gender associated with them (men’s or women’s). See signage and wayfinding guide above.
