About Dr. Michael Calasso
Dr Calasso received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in August 2024. From 2024 to 2026, he worked at Boston University as a Teaching Professional. Dr Calasso main areas of interest are Logic, Metaphysics, the Philosophy of Mathematics, and the Philosophy of Language. His dissertation is a critical study of Bob Hale and Crispin Wright’s Abstractionism, a philosophy of mathematics with historical ties to the philosophical and technical work of Gottlob Frege. Therein, Dr Calasso criticize their method for demonstrating that numbers exist, and he develop a novel approach that meets their realist and epistemological aims––one that employs a number of technical results from model theory. Also, he absolutely love to teach!
