How to promote your event

Calendars

We have two event calendars at Fort Lewis College:

SkyHub

SkyHub is a student-led, student-focused calendar. If you have a student-focused event, submit your event to SkyHub. Contact nmanning@fortlewis.edu to learn how to register your organization and to submit an event to the SkyHub calendar.

25Live

25Live is a faculty- and staff-led, FLC and Durango community focused calendar. You’ll use
25Live to book your on-campus space. If you indicate the event is open to the public, it will be uploaded to the 25Live calendar shortly after your event is approved.

Reserve your space and learn more about 25Live

For off-campus promotion, add your event to online community calendars like KSUT, Durango Area Tourism Office, and more.

Bulletin Board

Our weekly event email, Bulletin Board, is sent to students, faculty, and staff every Friday morning. As long as your event meets the requirements, your event will be added to this email if you have submitted it to the 25Live or SkyHub calendar.

Flyer

1. CREATE

Use canva.com to create a flyer and social media graphics with your event information on it.

2. DISTRIBUTE

Send or print materials two weeks before the event date.

  • Social: Send digital materials to hbbirdsong@fortlewis.edu to be included on FLC social media pages.
  • Screens: Send a horizontal digital flyer (1920px x 1080px) to jelopez@fortlewis.edu to be displayed on the screens campus-wide. Must be a PDF, PNG, or JPG under 1,000 KB.
  • Printed Flyers: Get your printed flyer stamped at the SU info desk and post your flyers on "open posting" campus bulletin boards.

Social media

Tag @FortLewisCollege on Instagram when promoting your event on social media. Tag us when you're promoting your event live on Instagram Stories, so we can repost the stories to the main FLC Instagram account. Create a Facebook event and invite FLC as a co-host for additional event promotion.

Press release

Promote your event through a press release to external media, so reporters can attend. Events promoted to external media should be either new and significant or traditional and newsworthy.

Send your press release to nbickel@fortlewis.edu.
