Biography & Therapeutic Approach / Style

I am a counseling intern currently pursuing my Master of Social Work at New Mexico Highlands University. I earned my bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Coaching from Fort Lewis College.

My professional interests include childhood trauma, ADHD and neurodivergence, anxiety, depression, attachment, family dynamics, emotional regulation, and understanding how our early experiences and relationships can continue to shape us throughout our lives. I am especially interested in helping people better understand themselves, including where certain patterns, emotions, and ways of relating to others may come from, while building on the strengths they already have.

Before beginning my graduate training, I worked in special education, supporting children with a wide range of learning, behavioral, and emotional needs. My experiences working with children and families, as well as coaching youth athletics, have taught me how important it is to meet people where they are, remain curious about their experiences, and recognize that there is often much more behind a person's behavior than what we see on the surface.

As I continue developing, I hope to create a space where clients feel comfortable being themselves without fear of judgment. My approach is warm, collaborative, and curious. I believe people deserve the opportunity to feel genuinely heard and understood, and I enjoy helping others make connections between their experiences, relationships, emotions, and the ways they navigate the world.

I grew up in Alaska and moved to Colorado in 2011, and Southwest Colorado has since become home. Outside of counseling and school, I am a mom of two and enjoy spending time with my family, staying active, and probably learning far more than necessary about whatever topic has caught my attention that week.
