- Make a personal plan.
Think about how you will communicate with family, friends, or roommates during an emergency. Decide where you would meet, how you would contact one another, and what you would do if normal communication is disrupted.
- Build an emergency kit.
Keep basic supplies available in case of severe weather, a power outage, or another emergency. The American Red Cross provides guidance on what to include.
