Get emergency information with Skyhawk Alert

Skyhawk Alert is FLC’s emergency notification service that quickly communicates health and safety information via email, text and voice. These alerts contain critical situational updates about FLC operations and community safety. They are used during campus emergencies or unexpected closures, and if an off-campus incident poses a threat to FLC.

ALL CURRENT STUDENTS AND EMPLOYEES ARE AUTOMATICALLY ENROLLED to receive Skyhawk Alerts via their official FLC email and phone number listed in Workday. Ensure your phone number is up-to-date to receive these alerts!

Emergency messages will also be posted on social media, the FLC website, and campus digital screens. Skyhawk Alert is one of several ways FLC communicates during emergencies. While alerts are reliable, they rely on third-party providers like cell carriers, so delivery cannot be guaranteed.

For visitors: Emergency alerts are linked to Fort Lewis College accounts. Social media platforms will post alerts, and push notifications can be enabled on these apps:

Get directions—not details—with Skyhawk Alerts

Skyhawk Alerts are brief and give clear instructions. For example:

  • Campus lockdown. Return to rooms and shelter in place. Police are securing buildings. More updates will follow.
  • Classes canceled 2/23 due to severe weather. Check your email for more details.
  • Two mountain lions spotted near Kroeger Hall. Use caution.

Alerts provide immediate actions, and follow-up details are shared via email and social media. Multiple alerts may be sent as a situation evolves, including outside normal business hours.
