Career Profile: Sean has over 30 years of international healthcare experience identifying new medical technologies, developing new therapeutic markets and building world-class management teams.  He is a widely recognized specialist in the medical device industry, particularly in the field of cardiology.

During his career, Sean worked for medical device start-up companies and multi-national biotech corporations.  Sean previously served as Vice President of Global Market Development for Inspire Medical Systems, Inc.  Inspire is a pacemaker like device that works inside your body to treat the root cause of obstructive sleep apnea.  As Divisional Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Abbott Vascular Structural Heart, Sean led the clinical and commercial development of a new interventional cardiology product, MitraClip®.  Sean held senior leadership positions in sales, marketing, business development and human resources at Guidant Corporation.  While at Guidant, Sean had extensive experience leading global product launches and driving adoption of new cardiovascular medical technologies.

In addition, Sean has significant merger & acquisition and fund-raising experience.  Notably:  Guidant Corporation’s spin-off from Eli Lilly & Co., Guidant’s acquisition of InControl, Inc., Guidant’s acquisition of Intermedics, Boston Scientific’s acquisition of Guidant and Abbott Vascular’s acquisition of Evalve, Inc.
