In theatre, having experience is vital for both graduate schools or jobs. That's why at Fort Lewis College, you don't just study theatre -- you act, direct, write, design, create, and perform. Because our expert and professional faculty focuses on teaching, they work closely with their students, taking pride in keeping their office doors open and being involved in their students' progress, assuring you an individualized learning experience.
For more than 50 years, the Theatre Building and its Mainstage Theatre have been the center for campus drama and performing arts, hosting frequent faculty- and student-directed shows, student productions and class projects. The building features classrooms, two theatres, a prop room, costume shop and a set-building facility. And our emphasis is on experience. The Performing Arts Department - Theatre at Fort Lewis College pursues an exciting and innovative curriculum stressing collaborative hands-on skill-building, experiential learning, innovative and broad production programming, professional guest artist engagements, and national and international internship opportunities.
