Privately funded scholarships for FLC students

Fort Lewis College awards hundreds of privately funded scholarships each year, thanks to the generosity of alumni, friends, community members, organizations, and other supporters who are committed to helping FLC students succeed.

FLC Foundation scholarships

Foundation scholarships are privately funded awards made possible through gifts from alumni, friends, organizations, and other supporters of Fort Lewis College. These scholarships are available to students across a variety of academic programs, backgrounds, and experiences, and may include specific donor-established eligibility requirements.

Department scholarships

Individual academic departments award department scholarships to support students pursuing specific majors, programs, or fields of study. These scholarships may recognize academic achievement, program involvement, financial need, or other eligibility requirements established by the department.

Applying for scholarships

Students can complete a general scholarship application to be considered for many Foundation and Department scholarship opportunities. Some scholarships require supplemental essays or additional application materials. Students are encouraged to search available scholarship opportunities and review individual scholarship requirements regularly.

Renewal-eligible scholarships renew automatically if eligibility requirements continue to be met.

Application timeline

  • Scholarship applications open December 1
  • Priority deadline: February 15
  • Awarding begins in April
  • Recipients are typically notified through their FLC email between April and June
  • Scholarship recipients are encouraged to submit a donor thank-you letter after they are notified
