Applying your outside scholarship to your FLC bill

Received a scholarship from an organization outside of Fort Lewis College? We can help you apply those funds directly to your FLC bill. Here's what you need to know, whether you're still applying or have already received an award.

Applying for a third-party scholarship

Many scholarship agencies request documents from FLC as part of your application. Common documents include:

  • Enrollment verification
  • Financial needs analysis
  • Transcripts

Only request the documents your scholarship application requires.

Received a third-party scholarship?

Congratulations! Here's what happens next:

  • Forward your award letter to finaid@fortlewis.edu as soon as you receive it.
  • Your funds are applied to your bill. Most scholarship agencies send the award check directly to Fort Lewis College. The Financial Aid Office applies the funds to your student account.
  • Remaining funds are refunded to you if the scholarship agency allows it. Some agencies require FLC to return unused funds directly to them.
  • If you receive funds directly from the agency, you must notify Financial Aid. We are required to track all scholarship funds to ensure your total aid does not exceed your cost of attendance.
