Prepare for a career in tourism & hospitality

The Tourism & Hospitality Management Minor is for students planning careers around the tourism and hospitality industries and not majoring in Business Administration.

The courses incorporate various guest speakers and field trips.You could learn from the experiences of the La Plata County Airport, Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, Visit Durango, The Springs Resort, Mesa Verde, and Visit Durango.

You can also earn credits and gain management exposure with internships. Recent internships include Purgatory Resort, Woodhouse Spa, Steamworks, and the Hampton Inn.

If your career interests are specific to the ski industry, you can also pursue our Certificate In Ski Resort Operations for an additional 12 credits.
