How to Join the Fort Lewis College Trail Running Team!
Are you passionate about trail running, looking to improve your skills, and excited to be part of a community? Join the Fort Lewis College Trail Running Team!
As an FLC Trail Running Athlete & Scholar, You Can Expect:
- Up to 5 practices per week on trails and track with student coaches
- Travel opportunities to races and competitions
- Student-led coaching and training with teammates and the greater trail-running community
- Build lasting friendships with others who share your passion for trail running
- Learn new skills and develop as a runner and athlete
- Opportunities to train, race, and challenge yourself in a supportive team environment
Practice & Training
Reserved practice times will be held 2–5 times per week, including training on both trails and track.
Training includes:
- Student coaching
- Team workouts
- Trail and track sessions
- Community-based training
- Race preparation and support
- Fun team building activities
Team Program Cost
$500 per year
Which will get you a uniform top, access to traveling to races, and competing in races with an amazing team!
Athletes are responsible for providing their own personal running equipment, including:
- Trail running shoes
- Running socks
- Appropriate workout clothing
- Race and training nutrition+ electrolytes
- Running poles
- Running vest
- Water bottles and water flasks for vest
- Uniform bottom black running spandex shorts 3 inch to 9 inch recommended
Academic Requirements
To participate, athletes must:
- Have no academic, financial, or disciplinary holds
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
- Be enrolled in at least 12 credits per semester
