Inspire the future
Share your love of music with the next generation of musicians
You love music, you love teaching; let your passion inspire others to find the joy in making music. You’ll learn the skills to teach music to elementary, middle, and high school students, while laying the undergraduate foundation for teacher licensure. This is a rigorous program, so talk with a Music Department mentor early in your college career if you think this is the path for you.
This program is designed to support you in attaining teacher licensure in Colorado. To teach music in K-12 public schools, you’ll combine the best of a music degree with the academics required for a K-12 Teaching license. Find out more about our K-12 Teaching programs on the Teacher Education Department site.
Admission to FLC and the Performing Arts Department Music program is a dual admission process. Application to be a student at the College is through the Admission Office.
Admission to our music programs is through an audition admission process. You can audition prior to acceptance by the Admission Office. Acceptance to the Music Department does not guarantee admission to FLC.
