This space features a Crestron touch control panel mounted to the wall next to the Dell touch TV allowing for easy volume; camera, and display controls. On both the left and right walls is a 55" LG TV along with an AVer PTZ camera mounted to the right hand wall. At the back of the room is a huge whiteboard on which the room's short throw projector can display. Mounted in the ceiling is a Shure microphone array tile, making this space fully Zoom capable.
Some of our classrooms have additional TV screens on the side or at the back of the room. Many times there is a camera near the additional screens. With this arrangement, if there are remote students joining the class, they can be seen on the back TVs. When the professor looks at that screen, the relative position of the camera makes the remote student feel like the professor is looking at them.
The AVer TR530 PTZ camera is USB connected to the classroom PC for use in video conferencing applications such as Zoom. The camera has pan, tilt, and zoom capability which are controlled with a touch panel or a remote. They do have a simple tracking feature that can be enabled or disabled.
The Dell Touch TVs allow for touch and pen interactions with a connected device. The Built-in PCs in the classroom are wired to the screens. The screens are not smart in anyway, they just provide a touch interface with a connected computer. In a few rooms there is a USB cable with the HDMI cable. Connecting that paired USB cable allows your laptop to use the camera and microphones for the room.
Some of our short throw Epson projectors are touch capable. A short-throw projectors is one that is installed directly above the whiteboard. The short throw projectors that have a white casing are the interactive models that allow for touch interaction with the Built-in PC.
These microphones are an array of multiple mics to pick up all the voices in the room. These microphones are connected to the Built-in PC for use in video conferencing software such as Zoom.
