10-27-2020 The Refresh Program is getting back on track after further setbacks due to COVID-19. We expect to finish up last Fiscal Year’s swaps by February and be able to move into FY 21 refreshes.
Thank you for your patience with us and let us know if you have any questions.
The following list defines the Workstation Refresh Program replacement cycle by department. As designed, the replacement cycle will provide new standard pc computers every four years, or every six years for standard Macintosh computers***. There are four cycles of refresh each fiscal year: September/October, January/February, May/June and an April refresh of sixth year Macs. Each fiscal year has four groups of computers that fit into one of these refresh cycles. Adjustments are made to the refresh cycle as computers are added or removed from the Workstation Refresh Program.
As you now may notice, the Apple computers are on a 6-year refresh. This is due to the increased costs of the new Apple computers, which we are trying to match with our current PC lineup. The computer is expected to last all 6 years, but will only have warranty for 4 years. If the Apple computer breaks between the 4th and 6th year the department is responsible for covering the repair or the remaining months of the 6-year lifecycle.
All refresh dates are approximate. Departments currently in Progress are listed in green. All refresh dates are approximate. Departments that have been completed in the current fiscal year are listed in red.
