This space features a QSC touch control panel mounted on the New Podium allowing for easy volume; camera, and display controls. Facing the students are two large whiteboards on which the room's Epson projector can display. Mounted at the back of the room is an LG TV and an QSC PTZ camera. Hanging from the ceiling are a series of microphone bulbs, making this space fully Zoom capable.
Some of our classrooms have additional TV screens on the side or at the back of the room. Many times there is a camera near the additional screens. With this arrangement, if there are remote students joining the class, they can be seen on the back TVs. When the professor looks at that screen, the relative position of the camera makes the remote student feel like the professor is looking at them.
With Schlessman Family Hall, the CATS team has been able to start constructing our own modern podiums using the QSYS AV system. The newest podiums come in two sizes:

Q-SYS is a programmable AV Control platform. The CATS team has two Q-SYS certified AV engineers on staff, allowing us to troubleshoot, redesign, and adapt the room's control panel.
Starting with Schlessman in 2023, Q-SYS has become the new standard system for controlling the equipment in the teaching space.
The Q-SYS PTZ cameras are positioned to capture the podium area. These cameras are controlled from the Q-SYS Touch Panel Controller on the podium. The PTZ designation stands for Pan, Tilt, and Zoom allowing for repositioning of the view.
