This space features a Crestron control panel mounted to the Nomad podium that allows for easy camera, volume, and screen controls. Mounted on the left and right walls are six total glass whiteboards. On the front wall and back walls, there are four TVs. On the far wall two 55" LG TVs and on the front wall there is a 43" LG TV mounted just above a huge 86" Dell Touch TV. Along with the TVs, the front and far walls each have an AVer PTZ camera. Mounted in the ceiling is a Shure microphone array tile, making this room fully Zoom and Skyflex capable.

Additional Screens

Some of our classrooms have additional TV screens on the side or at the back of the room. Many times there is a camera near the additional screens. With this arrangement, if there are remote students joining the class, they can be seen on the back TVs. When the professor looks at that screen, the relative position of the camera makes the remote student feel like the professor is looking at them.

AVer TR530 PTZ Camera

The AVer TR530 PTZ camera is USB connected to the classroom PC for use in video conferencing applications such as Zoom. The camera has pan, tilt, and zoom capability which are controlled with a touch panel or a remote. They do have a simple tracking feature that can be enabled or disabled.

  • To enable tracking, the touch panel might have a button to toggle the tracking feature, but you can also use the button on the remote.
  • Blue light on the front indicates the camera is powered on.
  • An Orange light indicates the camera is off.

Dell Touch TV

The Dell Touch TVs allow for touch and pen interactions with a connected device. The Built-in PCs in the classroom are wired to the screens. The screens are not smart in anyway, they just provide a touch interface with a connected computer. In a few rooms there is a USB cable with the HDMI cable. Connecting that paired USB cable allows your laptop to use the camera and microphones for the room.

  • If needed, there is a power button on the bottom bezel of the TV under the power indicator LED. If the touch panel or remote are not controlling power, then you can use this button.
