This space, last overhauled in the summer of 2025, features a QSC touch control panel mounted to the new podium allowing for easy volume, camera, and display controls. Along with the control panel, a small Network camera is mounted to the podium facing the students. Also facing the students are two whiteboards and a pull down screen for the room's projector to display on. Mounted on the far wall of the room are two 43" LG TVs, and a QSC PTZ style camera. Mounted in the ceiling is a microphone array tile. This room is fully Zoom and Skyflex capable.
Some of our classrooms have additional TV screens on the side or at the back of the room. Many times there is a camera near the additional screens. With this arrangement, if there are remote students joining the class, they can be seen on the back TVs. When the professor looks at that screen, the relative position of the camera makes the remote student feel like the professor is looking at them.
With Schlessman Family Hall, the CATS team has been able to start constructing our own modern podiums using the QSYS AV system. The newest podiums come in two sizes:

The NC 110 is a wide-angle camera that is typically installed at the front of the classroom to capture the view of the students.
The camera can be controlled by the Q-SYS Touch Screen Controller found on the podium. The camera should default to a wide view, but allows for digital panning, tilting, and Zooming.
The Q-SYS PTZ cameras are positioned to capture the podium area. These cameras are controlled from the Q-SYS Touch Panel Controller on the podium. The PTZ designation stands for Pan, Tilt, and Zoom allowing for repositioning of the view.
These microphones are an array of multiple mics to pick up all the voices in the room. These microphones are connected to the Built-in PC for use in video conferencing software such as Zoom.
